Remember the release, not just the distillery.
Keep the expression, cask details and age or batch information you know with your tasting. Different releases from the same maker can leave very different impressions.

Describe your dram
Record sweetness, fruit, oak, smoke or other notes in your own words. Save dislikes as well as favourites. Your personal record can help distinguish an expression you enjoyed from one whose smoke or finish did not suit you.
Return to the original tasting
Keep the date and a note about the occasion. When you taste the same whisky again, record another impression rather than losing the earlier one. Review your ratings over time where you have recorded tasting dates.
Separate ownership from curiosity
My Collection holds what you own; Wishlist holds expressions you would like to explore. Neither requires a tasting score. Add a rating when you have actually tried the drink, and keep unknown release details blank until you can confirm them.
